My computer is alive again!

Our computer died two weeks ago, and we have been going back and forth to the "doctor," and finally it looks like it has recovered (fingers crossed!). I am crazy busy with making university tests and checking student papers...so I won't be back in the bloggin' mode for another few days...but I haven't disappeared!

Follow your Bliss!

My New Year's Resolution in Japanese is
自分らしく歩行 which, I can't find the best English translation for. Its "Walking my own path", or "Being me and living that out in my everyday life." As the first step, I am journaling a lot to try to find the answers of who I am today. I have changed, but the path I have walked getting to this point is my heart and bones in so many ways. Seeking a bit of inspiration, I turned to my favorite storyteller of myths and dreams, Joseph Campbell:

Follow your bliss and doors will open where there were no doors before.

I don't believe people are looking for the meaning of life as much as they are looking for the experience of being alive.

I don't have to have faith, I have experience.

It is by going down into the abyss that we recover the treasures of life. Where you stumble, there lies your treasure.

Life is without meaning. You bring the meaning to it. The meaning of life is whatever you ascribe it to be. Being alive is the meaning.

Love is a friendship set to music.

Myths are public dreams, dreams are private myths.

One way or another, we all have to find what best fosters the flowering of our humanity in this contemporary life, and dedicate ourselves to that.

Amen
